How it works
Money tied up is what your customers owe you on an average day because they pay late: jobs a month × the average job × days late ÷ 30.
Time chasing counts every week a job is late: jobs a month × days late ÷ 7, times the minutes you spend chasing one job for a week (calls, texts, emails, checking the bank).
Questions
Jobs a month, times the average job, times the days late, divided by 30. It’s the money that would be in your account on an average day if every customer paid on time. The working is shown under the figure, so you can check it yourself.
From the fourth slider: the minutes you spend chasing one late job for each week it’s late. It starts at 15 minutes. Set it to what a week of calls, texts and checking the bank takes you, and the hours follow.
Only when your customer is a business. The late payment rules give you interest and fixed compensation of €40, €70 or €100 per invoice. They don’t apply to someone paying for work on their own home. The guide on chasing late payments has the rates and sources.
