How it works
Each range runs from the lowest figure to the highest across at least two Irish price guides published or updated recently. Every source is listed under the job with the date we checked it, so you can read it yourself.
Once a job has enough real quotes sent with QuotePaid in an area, the page also shows the middle half of what businesses actually quoted there, before VAT: at least 30 quotes from at least 5 businesses in the last 12 months, with no names, addresses or single prices.
Questions
Because no two jobs are the same. The size of the room, the state of the walls, the wiring or pipes already there, the materials and where you are all move the price. A range shows where most prices fall; only a quote for your own job gives you a price.
From price guides published by Irish tradespeople, trade directories and suppliers. There is no official price list for trades in Ireland. We use a job only when at least two dated sources give a figure for it, list every source under the job, and recheck them.
It depends on the source, and most don’t say. Each job says which of its sources include VAT and which leave it out. Work on a home is usually charged at 13.5%, so ask whether a quote includes VAT before you compare two.
When at least 30 quotes from at least 5 businesses have been sent with QuotePaid for a job in an area in the last 12 months, the page shows the middle half of their prices, before VAT. Test accounts are left out, no one business can make up more than half, and no names, addresses or single prices are shown.
